Admissions Procedures and Requirements

Career Training Academy admits, trains and refers students without regard to race, creed, disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, color, or national origin. Applicants will be interviewed by a school representative and may, if in the opinion of the Director, be required to complete an aptitude test. Applicants with GED score under 235 or High School graduates with a QPA under 1.5 (4 point system) will be required to take the aptitude test. The aptitude test may only be taken one time. The purpose of the TABE test is to determine the applicant's suitability for the program. The TABE aptitude test minimum score for entry into the academy is 15. If an applicant scores between 15 and 17, the applicant may be required to participate in a special tutoring session or attend a class at an appropriate school/agency to address the academic concerns in order to enter the program. If the test result is a 17 or higher, the applicant is admitted into the school without any further requirements. Applicants are required to submit or complete the following:

1. Interview
2. Admissions Application
3, Evaluation Essay
4. Tour
5. Application Fee
6. Enrollment Agreement
7. Proof of high school graduation and Official transcript or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
8. Health Form (Costs are student's responsibility) - Required for all Health and Massage Therapy programs.
9. Written acceptance decision by Career Training Academy.

OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) has mandated that all healthcare workers who come into exposure of blood borne pathogens must receive Hepatitis B vaccinations or sign a waiver declining the vaccine. Career Training Academy wishes to inform you that if you are planning to receive the vaccine, you must begin Hepatitis B vaccinations (a three-shot series) prior to beginning your Externship. This vaccination series is the responsibility of each individual student and should be planned for accordingly.
